Our mission is to co-invest with communities and social investors, donors and government to realize improved production efficiencies, volume (aggregation) and value addition benefits through an entire value chain approach
Mpuai Ventures is social enterprise that implements sustainable value chain and carbon offset
projects to create value in rural communities and restore ecosystems. Founded on the principles of
sustainability, empowerment, and community development, Mpuai Ventures is seeking to holistically
transform the way rural communities generate, add value to and share value. We implement carbon
offsetting projects based on agroforestry (fruit, nut and shad trees), afforestation, energy efficient
cookstoves, use of biochar and water retention in agriculture, then convert these offsets into carbon
credits that are sold internationally and the benefits shared across the value chain, with the
communities using their share to improve their infrastructure (water, health and nutrition, agronomy
support, education).

The Jiko Kisasa Cookstoves Project
The Jiko Kisasa Cookstoves Project procure and distribute 19,000 energy-efficient cookstoves to the diverse communities across Narok south and Narok West. We are also designing a similar project in Kajiado west to procure and distribute 20,000 energy efficient cookstoves.
Through the reduction of wood consumption, we achieve more than just the preservation of our precious local forests. We also enhance the well-being of the communities we are privileged to serve, with a particular focus on the health and welfare of women and children. Through this project, our mission is to foster better lives for rural communities by reducing carbon emissions through the introduction of efficient cooking solutions.
